What is Nutritional Counseling?
Nutrition Counseling is a service provided by a Registered Dietitian (RD). RDs are nutrition providers who are licensed in the state of Ohio to offer guidance and support surrounding nutrition and overall health. During counseling sessions, you and your nutrition provider will be able to discuss food and meal planning, preparation, goal setting and lifestyle change including looking at your current behaviors around nutrition, exercise, sleep and managing stress. The role of the RD is to provide individualized counseling to support you in your nutrition journey by providing recommendations for dietary and lifestyle changes. Through nutritional counseling, a RD can help you:
- Live a healthy lifestyle through a personalized nutrition plan
- Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.
- Gain or lose weight
- If you are pregnant/trying to get pregnant or are breastfeeding
- Address digestive problems
- Improve performance in sports
